About

Hello, I’m Giovanna. I’m 33 years old, have three boys, Buzz, 5, Buddy, 3, and Max, 1. I’m married to a rather lovely man called Tom who I met on my first day at school 21 years ago. It seems we can’t get rid of each other.

I’ve had many jobs, from being the ‘bucket girl’ in my local florist (slimy flowers really stink) to writing book reviews for Heat magazine (seeing as I’m an avid reader this was my dream job). In 2011, after an inspiring chat with Dorothy Koomson, I decided to start writing my own fiction. A year later I signed a book deal with Penguin and then, in 2013, Billy and Me was published. Since then I’ve added You’re The One That I Want, Christmas with Billy and Me (novella), Dream a Little Dream, Dream a Little Christmas Dream (novella), Always With Love and Some Kind of Wonderful to my fiction list.

About Me
In 2017 I also ventured into non-fiction with Happy Mum, Happy Baby: My Adventures into Motherhood – something I completely loved writing. In fact, I loved it so much I decided to launch a podcast of the same name, where I invite other people on to give their honest accounts of parenthood. It’s been amazing to have people share and highlight the fact that we all parent in different ways and that we’re all making it up as we go along. The podcast, now on series 5, is regularly at the top of the charts, and we’ve accumulated over 7million downloads to date.

A few years ago Tom and I decided to combine our skills and pen a trilogy of books – basically we came up with an amazing concept and didn’t want to let it go so had no choice but to work on the project together. The first book Eve of Man was published in 2018 and the second will be published this April while we work away on the finale. It’s an interesting dynamic working with your husband, but luckily we haven’t had too many arguments… yet.
